Homemade Snickers Protein Bars
Ingredients
Nougat Oat Layer
- 1.5 cups oat flour
- ½ cup vanilla protein powder we used Garden of Life Whey
- ½ cup maple syrup
- ⅓ cup all-natural drippy peanut butter
Peanut Butter Caramel Layer
- ½ cup all-natural drippy peanut butter
- ½ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup melted coconut oil
- ¾ cup chopped salted peanuts
Chocolate Coating
- 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
Instructions
- Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- For the Nougat Oat Layer, mix all ingredients in a large bowl until a thick dough forms. Press firmly into the lined pan.
- Prepare the Peanut Butter Caramel Layer by mixing peanut butter, maple syrup, and coconut oil. Fold in the peanuts and spread over the oat layer. Freeze for 1 hour.
- Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil. Coat each bar with chocolate and place on a wire rack to set.
- Once set, store the bars in a freezer-safe bag or container.
Notes
- Use any vanilla, chocolate, or caramel protein powder, whether whey or vegan.
- Add extra peanuts for a crunchier Snickers bar experience.
