Here’s the simplest recipe for noodles that you can whip up in just 10 minutes when you’re craving a quick and super tasty dinner! These noodles are bursting with garlic and chili flavors, making them absolutely delicious.

Spicy Chili Garlic Oil Noodles

  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons neutral oil like vegetable, peanut, or canola
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 green onions white part and green part separated
  • 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons finely minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes add more for extra heat
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons mild chili powder
  • 3 tablespoons grated parmesan
  • 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon light brown sugar adjust to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 6 to 8 ounces knife-cut noodles


  • Cook the noodles according to the instructions on the package.
  • In a bowl, combine the white part of the green onions, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, chili powder, soy sauce, parmesan, brown sugar, and salt to taste. Set aside.
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, heat the sesame oil, neutral oil, and butter until very hot and sizzling.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and carefully pour the hot oil mixture over the bowl with garlic, onion, and chili. It should sizzle.
  • Mix everything together well and then add it to the cooked noodles. Toss until the noodles are coated.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning according to your preference. Add the green onion tops and more parmesan if desired, along with extra chili flakes for more spice.
  • Enjoy your delicious noodles while they’re warm!
