Ingredients

*Pizza Sauce*

  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 6 oz. tomato paste
  • ¼ cup Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

*Pizza*

  • 1 loaf Italian bread sliced in half lengthwise
  • 2 cups shredded pizza cheese mix or 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese and 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 4 oz. mini pepperoni*
  • 1 large green pepper diced

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, and sugar. Whisk until well combined. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Preheat your oven to 375ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place each half of the Italian bread crust side down on the baking sheet. Spread ½ cup of pizza sauce evenly over each half. Sprinkle ½ cup of cheese over the sauce on each half, followed by half of the pepperoni and diced green pepper.
  • Bake for 15 minutes. Check for golden brown edges and melted cheese. If needed, bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Let the pizza cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize your toppings according to your taste preferences.
  • If you prefer regular-sized pepperoni, go for it! Just keep in mind it may take up more space on the pizza.
  • We recommend using an Italian loaf of bread for the best results, but any baked loaf except for a French baguette will work well.
