Cheesy Garlic Bread (Pull Apart Bread)
Servings 8
Ingredients
- 1 Italian bread loaf
- 2 bulbs of garlic
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter at room temperature
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt adjust to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper adjust to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
- Peel the outer layers of the garlic bulbs, leaving the cloves intact.
- Use a sharp knife to cut off the top 1/4 of each garlic bulb, exposing the cloves. Drizzle olive oil, and sprinkle a bit of salt and pepper. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes. Once done, set it aside to cool.
- Squeeze the cooled garlic cloves into a large bowl. Add room temperature butter, parsley, parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
- Slice the Italian bread vertically, making 1/2-inch wide cuts without cutting all the way through. Spread the prepared butter mixture between each slice and on top. Wrap the bread in aluminum foil, covering it completely.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until the cheese is melted, and the bread is crispy on the outside.
- Remove from the oven and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Serve warm, either by slicing it completely or pulling the loaf apart with your hands. Enjoy the cheesy goodness!
