Love the idea of starting your day with a delicious twist? How about having baklava for breakfast! Try this easy and tasty recipe using @Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix with a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg. We’ve added a crunchy topping of walnuts and pistachios, and don’t forget to finish it off with a generous drizzle of honey and a dollop of crème fraîche!

Baklava Skillet Pancake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups pancake mix
  • 3/4 cup water or non-dairy milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup ghee or melted butter
  • 1 tbsp ghee or melted butter
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 cup pistachios
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Honey and crème fraiche for serving

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a food processor, finely chop walnuts, pistachios, and sugar.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine pancake mix, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, water (or non-dairy milk), and 1 tbsp melted butter. Gently whisk until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  • In a 10-inch skillet, spread 1/4 cup melted butter. Add the pancake mix.
  • Top with the walnut-pistachio mixture. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cooked.
  • Finish by drizzling honey and adding a dollop of crème fraiche. Enjoy your delightful baklava-inspired breakfast!
