Let’s get baking! Preheat your oven to 400°F.
Start by coring the apple and slicing it super thin—I used a mandolin for this.
Next, melt the butter and mix in the dark brown sugar and cinnamon until well combined.
Coat each apple slice in the buttery mixture and layer them snugly in a greased ramekin. Make sure to drain any excess liquid from the ramekin.
Keep layering those apple slices until your ramekin is filled to the brim!
Pop it in the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Once done, remove the ramekin from the oven and discard any excess liquid.
Now, it’s time to add the puff pastry! Place a piece of puff pastry on top of the apples, brush it with oil or egg wash, and bake for another 20 minutes until beautifully golden.
