Vegan Hot Cocoa

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup oat milk or any other milk or nut milk alternative
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder or cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp vegan dark chocolate chips or milk chocolate
  • 2 tsp pure maple syrup or honey, agave, or other sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Toppings: vegan marshmallows dairy or dairy-free whipped cream, gingerbread man, chocolate shavings, or cocoa dust

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan over medium to low heat, combine all ingredients, stirring consistently until well incorporated and heated through.
  • Pour into a mug, add your favorite toppings, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the richness by adding more cacao powder.
  • Sweeten to taste with additional maple syrup if desired.
  • Stir consistently while heating to avoid clumps.
