Description

These Strawberries and Cream Overnight Oats are a creamy, fruity, make-ahead breakfast made with oats, strawberries, yogurt, milk, and chia seeds. They come together in minutes and chill overnight for an easy, filling morning meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • Optional: 1/4 to 1/2 cup water, if the mixture seems too thick
  • 1 cup strawberry Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 3/4 cup diced strawberries, fresh or frozen
  • Optional: 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Instructions

  1. Add the old-fashioned oats, milk, strawberry Greek yogurt, chia seeds, diced strawberries, and optional protein powder to a mason jar or another lidded container.
  2. Stir everything together until the mixture looks evenly combined and no dry pockets of oats remain. Make sure the chia seeds are distributed throughout the jar.
  3. Check the texture. If the mixture looks overly thick, stir in a little water or more milk until it loosens slightly. You want the oats to be creamy and thick, but still easy to stir and spoon.
  4. Cover the container and place it in the refrigerator. Let the Strawberries and Cream Overnight Oats chill overnight whenever possible, or at least for 2 hours if you are in a hurry.
  5. When you are ready to eat, give the oats another stir. Add a splash of milk if needed to loosen the texture, then enjoy them cold straight from the fridge.

Notes

  • You can use fresh or frozen strawberries depending on what you have available. Frozen berries are especially convenient and work well for meal prep.
  • Vanilla protein powder or collagen peptides are optional. They add extra protein, but the oats still taste great without them.
  • If the oats seem too thick after chilling, simply add a little more milk before serving and stir again.
