If you’re searching for a Christmas appetizer that’s also a delightful centerpiece, then you’ve found it! This easy, crowd-pleasing Christmas tree pull-apart bread brings cheesy, herby pizza vibes to your table effortlessly. With store-bought pizza dough and mozzarella sticks, you can whip up this festive bread in under an hour, perfect for those last-minute additions to your spread. Here’s how to make it:

Pull-Apart Christmas Tree

  • 1 pound refrigerated pizza dough
  • Egg wash (1 egg whisked with 1 tablespoon water)
  • 7 mozzarella sticks
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon thinly sliced basil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped rosemary
  • Marinara sauce (warmed (for serving))
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the mozzarella sticks into 1-inch pieces and set them aside.
  2. On a floured surface, divide the pizza dough into two pieces. Stretch and roll each piece of dough into a long rectangle, then cut the dough into 2-inch squares (you’ll need 33 squares in total).
  3. Wrap each piece of mozzarella with a dough square, forming tightly sealed balls. Place the balls seam-side down on the baking sheet, arranging them in the shape of a Christmas tree so they touch each other. Brush the egg wash over the dough balls and bake until they turn golden, which should take about 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. While the pizza balls are baking, whisk together the melted butter, Parmesan, and herbs. Once the pizza balls are done, brush them with this mixture. Serve the warm pull-apart bread with marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy your festive treat!
