Helpful Hints and Tips:

  • Roll and cut the shortbread dough repeatedly until you have about 8-9 Twix bars.
  • Roll the dough between two sheets of parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Bake at 250°F to ensure crispy shortbread without burning.
  • The shortbread is ready when it’s firm to the touch and golden brown on the edges.
  • For the best date caramel, use a food processor or high-speed blender. Add a splash of water or vanilla extract if needed.
  • Incorporate coconut oil to melt the chocolate. Microwave it in 30-second intervals, stirring each time.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Can I use oat flour instead of almond flour?
Yes, although the texture may vary slightly.
  • What can I use instead of date caramel?
Regular caramel is a suitable alternative if preferred.
  • Can these Twix bars be stored on the counter?
Unfortunately, no. They must be refrigerated or frozen to prevent the chocolate from melting.
