- 1/2 pound ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 5 large eggs
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Oil spray
- 5 slices of cheddar or American cheese
- 5 English muffins buttered and toasted
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, ground turkey, brown sugar, salt, thyme, sage, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Divide the mixture into 5 to 6 equal portions and shape them into thin patties.
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add the olive oil and butter. Cook the sausage patties for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until fully cooked. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a tray with parchment paper. Toast the English muffins in the oven for 6 to 8 minutes until golden.
- Meanwhile, cook the eggs in greased molds over medium heat until the whites are set. Remove the molds and set the eggs aside.
- To assemble the sandwiches, place a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each English muffin, followed by a sausage patty, an egg, and the top half of the muffin.
- Wrap each sandwich in sandwich paper and store them in a ziplock bag or container in the freezer.
- To enjoy, microwave the sandwiches for 90 seconds until warmed through. Then, enjoy your delicious homemade breakfast sandwich!
Notes
If you don’t have egg molds, you can make scrambled eggs or a sheet pan egg bake and cut them into squares instead.
