Extra Crispy Halloumi Nuggets
- 16 ounces halloumi cheese
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the flour coating:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
For the egg coating:
- 2 eggs
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
For the Panko coating:
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- In a small bowl, mix together flour, paprika, dried parsley, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
- In a third bowl, combine Panko breadcrumbs, paprika, dried parsley, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Place the halloumi cheese blocks on a cutting board and slice them into small squares or rectangles.
- Dip each piece into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally into the Panko breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they’re evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan to 350°F.
- Fry the nuggets until they turn golden brown all around, which should only take a few minutes.
- Remove the nuggets from the oil and place them on a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
- Serve these cheesy delights with marinara sauce or honey for a deliciously sweet and salty combination.
