Crispy Air Fryer Tofu

  • 14 ounces of extra firm tofu (cut into cubes after pressing)
  • 1 tablespoon of low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • Oil spray for air frying

**For the Peanut Satay Sauce:**

  • 1/3 cup of peanut butter
  • Juice of half a lime
  • 3 tablespoons of sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of chili paste
  • 2 teaspoons of ginger paste
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup of hot water

**Prepare the Peanut Sauce:**

  1. Mix peanut butter, lime juice, sweet chili sauce, chili paste, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and hot water in a bowl until you get the desired consistency. Adjust water for thickness.

**Prepare the Tofu:**

  1. Wrap the tofu block in paper towels or a clean kitchen towel. Press it down with a heavy object for 10 to 15 minutes to drain excess water. Cut into cubes.
  2. In a large Ziploc bag or mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, olive oil, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cornstarch. Shake well to coat the tofu.

**Airfry:**

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Spray the tray with oil and place the marinated tofu, ensuring they’re spaced apart. Air fry for 15 to 20 minutes, spraying oil halfway through until golden and crispy.
  2. Serve the tofu in a rice bowl with peanut satay sauce and your favorite veggies like pickled onions, cucumbers, green onions, and cilantro! Enjoy your crunchy tofu delight!
