Copycat Cava Pita Chips

  • 4 pitas (cut into triangles)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Spice Mix:

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  1. Mix Italian seasoning, salt, lemon pepper, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. Cut each pita into 8 triangles.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan to 325-350°F.
  4. Fry the pita in batches, ensuring they’re not overcrowded.
  5. Once golden and crispy, remove chips from the oil and let them drain on a wire rack. Fry them just enough so they’re soft inside but crispy outside, like Cava’s.
  6. Transfer fried pita chips to a bowl and add seasoning to taste.
  7. Toss chips around to evenly coat them.
  8. Serve with hummus or your favorite dip!
  • Use the thickest pita you can find, preferably the brand Cava uses, like Damascus Bakeries.
  • Alternatively, you can use Papa Pita brand, available at most major supermarkets.
