Ingredients

  • 1 + 1/4 cup all-purpose or whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup dried raisins
  • 1 egg for egg wash egg white mixed with a splash of water

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Begin by making the dough. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, coconut sugar, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add the Greek yogurt to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. If necessary, use your hands to ensure everything is well incorporated.
  • Fold in the raisins until evenly distributed in the dough. If the dough is sticky, add a bit more flour.
  • Shape the dough into a ball and let it rest in the mixing bowl, covered with a damp towel, for 10 minutes.
  • After resting, transfer the dough to a floured surface, knead it again, and divide it into 4 equal parts. Roll each portion into a ball and poke a hole in the center with your finger to form a bagel shape.
  • Place the bagels on the prepared baking sheet, brush them with the egg wash, and sprinkle with everything but the bagel seasoning.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-28 minutes.
  • Once baked, allow the bagels to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Mix the dry ingredients first before adding the Greek yogurt.
  • Since the dough can be sticky, don’t hesitate to dust your hands with flour as needed.
  • Opt for dairy-free yogurt to make these dairy-free and vegan-friendly.
  • Feel free to personalize them by adding different seasonings before baking.
