  • Yield: 10 1x
  • Category: Appetizer

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baguette (sliced into 1-inch rounds)
  • 2 cans Hunt’s petite diced tomatoes (drained well)
  • 3 cloves garlic (mashed or minced)
  • 1/2 cup basil (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 Babybel cheese (to make the star)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Slice the bread and line it up on a baking sheet. Brush each slice with olive oil and sprinkle some sea salt on top. Pop them in the oven for 10-12 minutes, broiling for an extra minute at the end to get those perfect brown edges. Once they’re done, take them out of the oven and set them aside.
  2. Now, let’s prepare the bruschetta topping. Make sure to drain the canned tomatoes well to remove as much liquid as possible. Transfer them to a bowl and add the minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, grated parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Give everything a good toss until it’s well coated.
  3. Line up your toasted bread slices in the shape of a Christmas tree on a serving platter or tray. Spoon the bruschetta topping generously over the bread slices.
  4. To add the finishing touch, use a small cookie cutter to cut out a star shape from the Babybel cheese. Place it on top of your Christmas tree bruschetta.
  5. Now it’s time to dig in and enjoy your festive creation!
