Ingredients
Ground Beef:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon adobo seasoning
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- dash of cayenne adjust to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 green or red bell pepper chopped
- 4 slices of American cheese
**For Assembly:**
- 2 rolls or sub bread toasted
- shredded lettuce
- sliced tomatoes
- thinly sliced avocados
- cooked beef bacon optional
- ketchup
- mayonnaise
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, then add the olive oil and butter.
- Toss in the onions, peppers, and garlic. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes until they soften.
- Add the ground beef and season with adobo, coriander, smoked paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
- Let the ground beef cook for 5 to 6 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it browns.
- Reduce the heat to low. Divide the meat into two to four sections, depending on how big you want your sandwiches. Place 1 to 2 slices of cheese on top of each section. Cover and let the cheese melt for about a minute or two.
- On toasted bread, layer avocado, lettuce, tomato, meat & cheese, ketchup, mayo, and optional bacon.
- Close the sandwich and enjoy it while it’s warm.
