Triple Berry Sparklers

Here’s a tip for a fun and safe 4th of July: stay hydrated if you’re planning to enjoy fireworks! When we want something refreshing that everyone in the family can enjoy, from the little ones to the grandparents, we turn to this super-light, patriotic refresher.

The magic touch? Those berry ice cubes. For this drink, we froze blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries in coconut water. But hey, you can use this trick to jazz up anything from lemonade to cold brew (ever thought about chocolate milk ice cubes?). And if you’re not into honey, no problem—just swap it out with maple syrup or agave to suit your taste.

For the berry ice cubes:

  • 1 1/4 cups coconut water
  • 1/3 cup blueberries
  • 1/3 cup raspberries
  • 1/3 cup chopped strawberries

For the drink:

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 3 12-ounce cans seltzer

To make the berry ice cubes:

  • Step 1: Place the blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries in an ice tray, then fill each compartment with coconut water. Freeze them until they’re solid, which takes about 4 hours.

To make the drink:

  • Step 2: In a pitcher or large measuring cup, mix the honey with the lime and lemon juices. Stir until the honey is completely dissolved. Add the seltzer and gently stir everything together.
  • Step 3: Fill your serving glasses with the berry ice cubes, then pour in the lemon-lime mixture.
