CHICKEN SHAWARMA

  • 1 pound chicken breast (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons allspice
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sumac
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric

WHITE SAUCE

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 5 to 6 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

FOR ASSEMBLY

  • French fries
  • Chopped pepperoncinis
  • Chopped kalamata or black olives
  • Diced red onion
  • Finely chopped parsley
  • Crumbled feta cheese


Instructions

MAKE THE WHITE SAUCE

  1. Combine all white sauce ingredients in a food processor or blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy, then transfer to a jar and refrigerate.

MAKE THE SHAWARMA

  1. In a large bowl, mix chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and spices.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over high heat, then add chicken and cook until seared and fully cooked.

ASSEMBLE

  1. Place fries and chicken on a plate or tray.
  2. Drizzle white sauce over the top, then add pepperoncinis, olives, red onion, feta cheese, and parsley.
  3. Enjoy while warm and dive into the deliciousness!
