Salted Caramel Buttercream Recipe
This frosting is incredibly smooth, creamy, and pipes like a dream š. It also holds its shape perfectly when piped.
Ingredients
For the Frosting:
- 1 cup dairy-free butter softened to room temperature
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup Salted Caramel Sauce
For the Salted Caramel Sauce:
- 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
Instructions
- Begin by making the salted caramel sauce. Mix together the melted coconut oil, almond butter, and maple syrup until smooth. Set aside.
- Using a hand mixer or the paddle attachment on your stand mixer, cream the softened butter on medium-high speed until it becomes creamy and light in color.
- With the mixer on low, gradually add the powdered sugar, making sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl after each addition.
- Finally, add the salted caramel sauce and continue mixing on low speed until fully incorporated.
