Orange Cookie
You’ve probably tried a lemon cookie, but have you ever had an Orange Cookie?! 🍊 These vegan orange cookies have irresistibly crispy edges with soft, chewy centers. They’re packed with a buttery, zesty orange flavor! And the best part? You don’t need any fancy tools—just a baking tray, a mixing bowl, and a wooden spoon.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons freshly grated orange zest
- 1/2 cup dairy-free butter melted
- 1/4 cup dairy-free yogurt
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed orange juice
Instructions
- Line two baking trays with parchment paper and set them aside.
- In a mixing bowl, rub the orange zest into the sugar to release the oils, then add the melted butter, yogurt, and orange juice.
- Stir in the flour, baking soda, and brown sugar to form a dough.
- Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.
- Scoop out 12 portions of dough and roll them into balls.
- Roll each dough ball in the powdered sugar until fully coated.
- Place the dough balls on the prepared baking trays and bake at 340°F (170°C) for about 10 minutes.
- If needed, use a large cookie cutter to reshape the cookies immediately after baking.
- Let the cookies cool on a wire rack before enjoying!
