Description
Crispy Rice Krispies tossed in a glossy peanut-butter chocolate coating, then lightly powdered with sugar — a no-bake, grab-and-go snack that disappears fast. Quick to make, easy to scale, and perfect for parties, movie nights, or feeding a sugar craving.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cups powdered sugar (for shaking) — or use ½ cup if you prefer just a light dusting
Instructions
- Place chocolate chips and peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until the mixture is smooth and shiny.
- Stir in the butter and vanilla until fully incorporated and creamy.
- Pour the Rice Krispies into a large bowl. Drizzle the warm chocolate mixture over the cereal and fold gently with a spatula until every spoonful is coated — avoid crushing the cereal.
- Spread the coated cereal onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and let it sit 15–20 minutes so the coating firms up.
- Transfer the cooled, coated cereal into a large resealable bag or a wide bowl. Add the powdered sugar, seal or cover, and shake or toss gently until everything gets an even snowy finish.
- Dump the finished snack onto a sheet to separate any clumps. Break into bite-size portions or cut into bars if you pressed the mixture into a pan. Serve.
Notes
- Quick Tips
- Heat slowly when melting the chocolate and peanut butter — rushing will burn the chocolate.
- Cool completely before adding powdered sugar; if it’s still warm the sugar will clump or dissolve.
- Want less sweetness? Swap milk chocolate for dark chocolate or cut the powdered sugar amount in half.
- Variations
- Stir in mini marshmallows, chopped pretzels, or chopped nuts before the coating sets.
- Add a pinch of sea salt after the sugar toss for a salted-chocolate twist.
- Use almond or sunflower seed butter to make a nut-free/alternative version.
- Storage
- Keep leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They’re crispiest during the first few days — avoid refrigerating (moisture will soften them).
