Let’s talk about two amazing things: meat and bread! Imagine fluffy, fresh bread smothered in cilantro garlic butter and stuffed with deliciously spiced ground beef. You won’t be able to resist going back for seconds, thirds, and maybe even fourths!

Meat Stuffed Naan

Ingredients
  

**For the Meat Filling:**

  • 1 pound of ground beef 85/15 lean-to-fat ratio
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons of ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons of garam masala
  • 2 teaspoons of coriander
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1/4 cup of tomato sauce
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of finely chopped cilantro

**For the Dough:**

  • 2/3 cups + 2 tablespoons of warm water
  • 1 teaspoon of white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of instant yeast
  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup of plain whole milk yogurt
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • Vegetable oil or ghee for cooking the naan

**For the Garlic Butter:**

  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter melted
  • 2 teaspoons of minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt adjust to taste
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro

Instructions
 

**Preparing the Meat Filling:**

  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until golden.
  • Add ground beef to the pan along with all the spices. Mash and cook until browned and finely minced.
  • Add tomato sauce and cilantro. Mix and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.

**Making the Dough:**

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it rest for 10 minutes until bubbly.
  • Add flour, yogurt, olive oil, and salt to the bowl. Mix until the dough comes together.
  • Knead the dough for 1 minute and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the garlic butter by mixing melted butter, minced garlic, salt, and cilantro in a bowl.

**Assembling and Cooking:**

  • Divide the dough into 7 to 8 portions. Flatten each portion and add 3 to 4 tablespoons of meat filling in the center.
  • Seal the edges tightly and roll out the dough thinly.
  • Cook each naan in a hot skillet for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Brush the naan with garlic cilantro butter and enjoy warm!

Notes

You can add onions to the meat filling if desired.
