Levain Bakery Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies

If you’ve ever been to New York City, you might have heard about the famous Levain Bakery. Once upon a time, I found myself in the Big Apple filming a segment for a Food Network show at their studios (I even won a contest for the most perfect cookie 🍪). Someone there insisted I taste the cookies from Levain Bakery, and let me tell you, they were mind-blowing! That sparked a determination in me to recreate those heavenly cookies right in my own kitchen.

I spent a lot of time working on the recipe, tweaking it until it was just perfect. Those cookies became my OG Signature Cookie, and guess what? The classic chocolate chip cookie recipe was the first one I ever shared.

But that’s not the end of the story. I decided to take things up a notch and created this absolutely AMAZING Levain Bakery Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Chip Cookie recipe. It’s a dream come true for those of us who love the magical combination of chocolate and peanut butter chips.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cold Butter cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Dark Baking Cocoa
  • 1 cup Cake Flour
  • 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1/3 cups Peanut Butter Chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 410 degrees.
  • In a big bowl, mix together the cold butter and sugars until it’s light and fluffy—this should take about 4 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition.
  • Now, add in the cocoa, cake flour, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Give it a good stir until everything is nicely combined. Then, toss in those peanut butter chips (or you can use chocolate chips if you prefer).
  • Let the dough chill for about 10 minutes.
  • Grab small portions of the dough and form them into large balls. Place them on a lightly colored cookie sheet. Gently press down on the top to smooth it out. These cookies are bigger than you think! You’ll be able to fit 4 cookies on one large sheet, and the dough will make 8 extra large cookies.
  • Bake them in the preheated oven for 8-11 minutes or until they turn a beautiful golden brown on top. After baking, give them at least 10 minutes to cool and set.
