Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  • Warm milk in a microwave-safe bowl for about 90 seconds.
  • Add yeast and stir.
  • Place 1 cup of sugar in a measuring cup. Scoop out 2 tablespoons of sugar and place in a bowl. Stir and let the yeast proof for 5-10 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine remaining sugar, eggs, melted butter, and salt. Once yeast is activated, add the mixture to the bowl. Stir in flour, 3 cups at a time, and watch for the dough to start coming off the sides of the bowl.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees, then turn it off. Place the dough in an oven-safe bowl, cover with a moist towel, and let it rise in the oven for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • After the dough has doubled, roll it out on a floured surface into a large rectangle.
  • Spread softened butter over the dough, and sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on top.
  • Roll up the dough tightly and slice into rolls.
  • Place on greased baking sheets, cover loosely with a towel or plastic wrap, and let rise for at least 1 hour.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 9-12 minutes.
  • To make the frosting, cream together butter and cream cheese for 2 minutes. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla.
  • Spread the frosting over slightly cooled cinnamon rolls.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
