Description

This Ground Beef and Brussels Sprouts skillet is a fast, flavor-packed dinner with a sweet, savory, and slightly spicy kick. It comes together in about 30 minutes and makes an easy weeknight meal that tastes way more exciting than it sounds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha, optional
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 pound shredded Brussels sprouts
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Set a large skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns. Stir in the green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and sriracha if using. Continue cooking until the beef is fully done, then transfer it to a plate.
  2. Pour the avocado oil into the same skillet and add the shredded Brussels sprouts. Season with salt and pepper, then sauté until they soften and begin to brown around the edges.
  3. Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Add the sweet chili sauce and lime juice, then stir well so everything gets evenly coated and heated through.
  4. Finish with sesame seeds, if desired, and serve right away over rice or your favorite base.
