French Toast with Caramel Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 loaf of Brioche
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup of whole milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of sea salt
Caramel Sauce:
- 8 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- 1 cup of dark or light brown sugar
- 1 cup of heavy cream
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and sea salt until everything is well mixed.
- Slice the brioche into thick 1-inch pieces and arrange them in a 16-inch round skillet or baking dish. It’s totally fine if the bread slices overlap.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread and let it soak overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, and heavy cream. Heat the mixture over medium-high heat until it starts to bubble, creating a luscious caramel sauce. Pour this heavenly concoction over the bread.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until the bread becomes delightfully crisp, and the egg mixture sets perfectly.
- For the finishing touch, dust your creation with powdered sugar or drizzle with maple syrup if you desire. Serve it warm and savor every delicious bite!
