These brownies are a chocolate lover’s dream, and we set out to create a recipe that would yield tender, fudgy treats – and we nailed it!

Who doesn’t love a brownie that’s fudgy, moist, and still warm when you bite into it? These flourless peanut butter protein brownies deliver just that, with cocoa powder and protein powder taking the place of traditional flour, and each bite featuring pockets of melted chocolatey goodness.

Our flourless peanut butter protein brownies are amped up with protein from protein powder and peanut butter, boasting an impressive 12 grams of added protein per brownie. Classic brownie ingredients like brown sugar, eggs, chocolate chips, and baking powder round out the mix.

Flourless Peanut Butter Protein Brownies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup chocolate protein powder we used Garden of Life Chocolate Whey
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips plus extra for topping

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted all-natural drippy peanut butter
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup plain unsweetened almond milk*
  • ½ cup chocolate chips melted
  • 3 tablespoons melted coconut oil

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350ºF and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients and set aside.
  • Cream together the peanut butter, maple syrup, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Then, add the eggs and almond milk, stirring until combined.
  • Mix the dry ingredients into the wet until well combined, then fold in the melted chocolate gently, leaving fudgy pockets throughout.
  • Transfer the batter into the lined pan, and top with extra chocolate chips if desired.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until the center is nearly set.
  • Let the brownies cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a rack. Serve warm with ice cream for a decadent treat, or let them cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • Baking times may vary, so keep an eye on them.
  • Rotate the pan halfway through baking if your oven tends to have hot spots.
