Everything Bagel Buns
Servings 8
Ingredients
- 8 frozen raw dinner rolls Look for raw dough in the frozen section; I prefer Rhodes frozen dinner rolls
- 8 tbsp regular cream cheese
- 3 tbsp water
- 3 tbsp everything bagel seasoning
Instructions
- Take the raw dinner rolls from the freezer and let them defrost for 45-60 minutes until soft. Spray a sheet pan with nonstick cooking spray and space the dough about 2 inches apart.
- Lightly spray your hands with nonstick and press the dough into approximately 3-inch circles. Using a small ice cream scoop or cutting, place a cube of cream cheese in the center. Wet the dough edges with water and fold up each side to completely seal the dough. Add extra water if needed.
- If baking immediately, cover with nonstick-sprayed plastic wrap and let them rise for 30 minutes. If baking the next day, cover the rolls with plastic wrap (sprayed with nonstick) and return to the refrigerator. When ready to bake, bring them to room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven according to the dinner roll bag (usually around 350°F). Just before baking, put the everything bagel seasoning in a small bowl and dip the tops of the rolls in it. Place dough balls about 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined or nonstick-sprayed baking sheet.
- Bake according to the package instructions, typically 12-15 minutes. Once done, let them cool for 10-15 minutes before enjoying. The cream cheese can be really hot, so give them a moment to cool down. Dive in and savor the deliciousness!
