Ingredients

Scale

**For the biscuit:**

  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter (cubed)
  • ½ cup shredded sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp everything bagel seasoning

**For the topping:**

  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Start by adding the flour to a medium-sized bowl. Toss in the cold cubed or grated butter and cut it into the flour using a pastry blender or a fork. Mix in the buttermilk, shredded cheese, and everything bagel seasoning, stirring by hand until everything comes together.
  2. Lightly dust your counter with flour and roll out the dough to about 1 inch thick. Cut it into four pieces, pile them on top of each other, and gently roll them back out. Repeat this process at least three times, then roll out the dough to about ½ inch thick. Cut out round biscuits and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with nonstick.
  3. Pop the biscuits into the freezer while you preheat the oven to 450°F. After 15 minutes, take them out and, one at a time, brush each biscuit with milk and sprinkle on everything bagel seasoning. Bake for 9-10 minutes or until they turn a delightful golden brown.
