Once slightly cooled, transfer the mixture to a blender along with 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese. Blend until smooth and creamy.
While the sauce is cooking, prepare your pasta according to the package instructions. Remember to reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
After draining the pasta, pour the tomato sauce over the top, along with the remaining parmesan cheese and pasta water. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated.
