Easy Pear Cobbler Recipe
Servings 6
Ingredients
**For the Topping:**
- 1½ cups of all-purpose flour scoop and level
- ½ cup of granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon of baking soda
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1 stick ½ cup of cold unsalted butter, diced
- 1 cup of milk
**For the Filling:**
- 4 large pears peeled, cored, and sliced into thin wedges
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon of nutmeg
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
- In a big mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the diced unsalted butter to the dry ingredients, and with a pastry cutter or two knives, create a mixture resembling coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until the dough just comes together; a bit lumpy is perfect!
- Prepare the pears by peeling, coring, and slicing them into thin wedges.
- In a baking or casserole dish, arrange the pear slices evenly, then sprinkle flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt on top. Toss together to coat the fruit.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cobbler dough on top of the pears, covering them as much as possible.
- Place the cobbler in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown, and the pears are tender.
- Once out of the oven, let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy it warm, and for an extra treat, top it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream!
