**CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH:**

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (at room temperature)
  • 1 egg yolk (at room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

**BROWNIE BATTER:**

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon instant coffee powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (at room temperature)
  • 1 egg yolk (at room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • M&Ms for topping


Instructions

**CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH:**

  1. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating in between. Then, add vanilla extract and beat again.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients, stirring just until smooth. Avoid overmixing!
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

**BROWNIE BATTER:**

  1. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, instant coffee (if using), and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating in between. Beat in the vanilla extract.
  4. Slowly stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing!
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

**FOR THE SKILLET BROOKIE:**

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 6-8 inch cast iron skillet.
  2. Alternately add 1/4 cup of cookie dough and brownie batter to the skillet, pressing down gently.
  3. Sprinkle M&Ms on top.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  5. Cool slightly, then top with ice cream and chocolate sauce if desired. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious creation!
