  • 1 egg (at room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled (344 g))
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

**For the Icing:**

  • 4-5 tablespoons milk (60-75 ml)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (390 g)
  • Sprinkles for decorating


Instructions

**For the Sugar Cookies:**

  1. Cream together butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  2. Mix in the egg and vanilla until pale and fluffy.
  3. Add flour, salt, and baking powder, and mix until combined.
  4. Chill the dough for 1 hour, then roll it out on a floured surface.
  5. Cut out cookies using cookie cutters, then chill them for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, then bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes.
  7. Let them cool completely before icing.

**For the Icing:**

  1. Sift powdered sugar into a bowl and mix in milk until smooth.
  2. Transfer icing to a piping bag and decorate your cookies as desired.
