- 1 egg (at room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled (344 g))
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
**For the Icing:**
- 4-5 tablespoons milk (60-75 ml)
- 3 cups powdered sugar (390 g)
- Sprinkles for decorating
Instructions
**For the Sugar Cookies:**
- Cream together butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla until pale and fluffy.
- Add flour, salt, and baking powder, and mix until combined.
- Chill the dough for 1 hour, then roll it out on a floured surface.
- Cut out cookies using cookie cutters, then chill them for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, then bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes.
- Let them cool completely before icing.
**For the Icing:**
- Sift powdered sugar into a bowl and mix in milk until smooth.
- Transfer icing to a piping bag and decorate your cookies as desired.
