Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese adjust as needed
  • 8 frozen dumplings
  • Vegetable oil or oil spray
  • Chopped parsley
  • Grated parmesan

Instructions

  • Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add a generous splash of oil (about 3 tablespoons to 1/4 cup). Once hot, add the frozen dumplings.
  • Cook until one side is beautifully golden, then flip and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes each until crispy. Remove from the pan.
  • In the same pan over medium heat, oil the surface if needed and spread the cheese evenly to cover the pan.
  • As the cheese melts, arrange the dumplings on top in a circular pattern, allowing them to adhere to the melting cheese.
  • Continue cooking until the cheese bubbles, turns golden, and loses its stretchiness. Parts of the cheese will turn red or brown. When the pan moves as one piece when shaken, it’s done.
  • Gently slide the cheese-coated dumplings onto a plate.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and grated parmesan. Serve with chipotle aioli or sweet chili sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Feel free to use mozzarella, Monterrey jack, or pepper jack instead of cheddar, but cheddar works best. You can also mix different cheeses.
  • Adjust the amount of cheese and dumplings based on the size of your pan. A larger pan can accommodate more dumplings.
