  • 1 cup whole milk warmed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup salted butter melted
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp kosher salt

For the gooey cinnamon sugar filling:

  • ½ cup salted butter softened (8 tablespoons)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp cinnamon

For the delightful frosting:

  • ½ cup salted butter softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-5 tbsp heavy cream room temperature

Instructions

  • Warm the milk in a bowl, add instant dry yeast and granulated sugar. Mix in a stand mixer with melted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs. Slowly add flour and salt, mixing for 5 minutes until the dough is soft. Let it rise for an hour until it doubles in size.
  • While the dough rises, prepare the filling by combining softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt in a bowl.
  • Roll out the risen dough into a 14×9 inch rectangle. Spread the buttery mixture, roll it into a log, and cut into 9 rolls. Place them in a prepared baking dish and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350° and bake the rolls for 20 minutes until they’re slightly golden. Keep them soft by slightly underbaking.
  • For the creamy frosting, whisk together butter, vanilla, salt, powdered sugar, and add heavy cream until it reaches your desired consistency. Spread it over the warm rolls and relish the goodness.
