Description

Bright, fizzy, and unexpectedly refreshing, this Cherry Coke Margarita blends mashed cherries, zesty lime, amaretto, and tequila, then finishes with a splash of cola. Simple to make and fun to sip — cheers!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 dark cherries (fresh or frozen and thawed)
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz amaretto liqueur
  • 1½ oz blanco tequila
  • Chilled cola of your choice (Coke Zero or Diet Coke recommended)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Put the cherries and lime juice into a cocktail shaker. Use a muddler (or the back of a spoon) to crush the cherries until they release their juice and break down.

  2. Add the amaretto, tequila, and plenty of ice to the shaker. Cap it and shake vigorously for about 20–30 seconds until well chilled.

  3. Strain the mixture over a glass filled with fresh ice.

  4. Top off with chilled cola to taste, give it a gentle stir, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Mocktail option
    • Swap the amaretto for Torani amaretto syrup and omit (or replace) the tequila with a zero-proof spirit or extra soda. Using Diet Coke or Coke Zero works well here because the syrup supplies sweetness.
  • Quick tip
    • For extra convenience, muddle a larger batch of cherries and lime ahead of time and store it in the fridge; mix with spirits and soda when guests arrive.
