Here’s a guide on making a soufflé. You can make it sweet, like a chocolate soufflé, or savory, like this cheese version.

The key to a perfect soufflé is whisking the egg whites to stiff peaks and gently folding them into the batter. This creates the airy texture that makes the soufflé rise.

Ingredients
  

  • – 1 tbsp butter
  • – 1 tbsp sugar for coating ramekins
  • – 4 eggs
  • – 2 tsp sugar
  • – 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • – Dash of salt
  • – 4 oz cream cheese
  • – 2/3 cup shredded cheese cheddar or jack

Instructions
 

**Step 1:**

  • – Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • – Prep the soufflé ramekins by coating the sides and bottom with butter, then sprinkle with sugar to prevent sticking.

**Step 2:**

  • – Separate the egg yolks and whites into two bowls.
  • – In the bowl with egg yolks, add 2 tsp sugar, flour, salt, cream cheese, and shredded cheese. Mix well and set aside.
  • – In the bowl with egg whites, use a standing mixer or a hand whisk to beat the whites until stiff peaks form.
  • – Gently fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture.
  • – Pour the batter into the ramekins, filling them to the top.

**Step 3:**

  • – Bake for 12 minutes, or until the soufflés have risen and are golden brown.
  • – Remove from the oven and serve immediately. Enjoy your light and fluffy soufflés!
