Description

A crunchy, cinnamon-cookie twist on the classic powdered-sugar snack mix.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups Chex cereal (use corn, rice, wheat, or a mix)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Biscoff (cookie butter), creamy
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered (confectioners’) sugar

Instructions

  1. Place the chocolate chips, Biscoff, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat on High for 60 seconds, stir, then microwave in 20–30 second bursts, stirring between, until the mixture is smooth and glossy. Stir in vanilla if using.
  2. Pour the cereal into a large mixing bowl. Drizzle the warm chocolate-Biscoff mixture over the cereal and fold gently with a spatula until the pieces are evenly coated. Work carefully so you don’t crush the flakes.
  3. Transfer the coated cereal into a large resealable bag (2-gallon size works well). Add the powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake vigorously until every piece is dusted.
  4. Dump the finished puppy chow onto a baking sheet lined with parchment to cool and break up any clusters. Let it sit until the coating sets.

Notes

  • Storage
    • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for several days, or refrigerate for a firmer texture. Keep it dry — humidity will make it lose its crunch.
  • Tip/Alternative
    • If you prefer not to use a microwave, melt the chocolate, Biscoff, and butter together in a heatproof bowl set over a simmering pot of water (double boiler), stirring until smooth.
  • Important note
    • This treat is for humans only. Chocolate is toxic to dogs — do not feed this to pets.
