Description
A crunchy, cinnamon-cookie twist on the classic powdered-sugar snack mix.
Ingredients
Scale
- 9 cups Chex cereal (use corn, rice, wheat, or a mix)
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup Biscoff (cookie butter), creamy
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups powdered (confectioners’) sugar
Instructions
- Place the chocolate chips, Biscoff, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat on High for 60 seconds, stir, then microwave in 20–30 second bursts, stirring between, until the mixture is smooth and glossy. Stir in vanilla if using.
- Pour the cereal into a large mixing bowl. Drizzle the warm chocolate-Biscoff mixture over the cereal and fold gently with a spatula until the pieces are evenly coated. Work carefully so you don’t crush the flakes.
- Transfer the coated cereal into a large resealable bag (2-gallon size works well). Add the powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake vigorously until every piece is dusted.
- Dump the finished puppy chow onto a baking sheet lined with parchment to cool and break up any clusters. Let it sit until the coating sets.
Notes
- Storage
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for several days, or refrigerate for a firmer texture. Keep it dry — humidity will make it lose its crunch.
- Tip/Alternative
- If you prefer not to use a microwave, melt the chocolate, Biscoff, and butter together in a heatproof bowl set over a simmering pot of water (double boiler), stirring until smooth.
- Important note
- This treat is for humans only. Chocolate is toxic to dogs — do not feed this to pets.
