Description

Treat yourself to soft, spiced blondies packed with tender apple pieces and finished with a creamy maple cream cheese glaze—a fall dessert that’s pure indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Blondies:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups peeled and diced apples (about 2 medium)
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

For the Maple Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch pan by greasing or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Slowly fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until everything comes together—don’t overmix.
  5. Gently incorporate the diced apples and, if desired, the chopped nuts for added texture.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. While the blondies cool, beat together the cream cheese, butter, maple syrup, powdered sugar, and vanilla to create a smooth frosting.
  8. Once the blondies are cooled, spread the frosting evenly on top, slice into squares, and enjoy!
