Each bite of this apple crumb cake is bursting with juicy apples. The apple chunks are coated in a spiced batter and baked with a brown sugar crumble on top. The result is a moist cake full of apple flavor and a delicious crumbly topping. This cake is based on our grandma’s fall recipe and remains our favorite apple cake.

Tips for the Best Apple Cake:

  • Apple Selection: Choose apples like Pink Crisps or Gravensteins for a perfect balance of tartness and sweetness.
  • Even Distribution: Spread the crumble topping evenly to ensure a uniform, crunchy top.
  • Checking for Doneness: Insert a toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
