Air Fryer Chicken Shawarma Skewers

  • 1 pound boneless (skinless chicken thighs (about 4 pieces))
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons allspice
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sumac
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  1. Cut the chicken thighs into small pieces.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the chopped chicken thighs with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and all the spices. Let it marinate for extra flavor – you can leave it for 30 minutes or even overnight in the fridge.
  3. Once marinated, thread the chicken onto skewers. If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Aim for about 6 to 7 pieces per skewer.
  4. Place the skewers in the air fryer and cook at 400°F for 6 to 8 minutes. Flip them halfway through to ensure both sides turn golden brown.
  5. Remove from the air fryer and serve warm!
