Air Fryer Chicken Shawarma Skewers

Here’s an easy way to make Chicken Shawarma Skewers in less than 30 minutes. You can enjoy it in a rice bowl, with salad, or even fries, and the best part is, you don’t need a grill or BBQ – it’s all done in the air fryer!

Air Fryer Chicken Shawarma Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs (about 4 pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons allspice
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sumac
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric

Instructions

  • Cut the chicken thighs into small pieces.
  • In a large bowl, mix the chopped chicken thighs with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and all the spices. Let it marinate for extra flavor – you can leave it for 30 minutes or even overnight in the fridge.
  • Once marinated, thread the chicken onto skewers. If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Aim for about 6 to 7 pieces per skewer.
  • Place the skewers in the air fryer and cook at 400°F for 6 to 8 minutes. Flip them halfway through to ensure both sides turn golden brown.
  • Remove from the air fryer and serve warm!
