Air Fryer Chicken Shawarma Skewers
Servings 6
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs (about 4 pieces)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Juice of half a lemon
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons allspice
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon sumac
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
Instructions
- Cut the chicken thighs into small pieces.
- In a large bowl, mix the chopped chicken thighs with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and all the spices. Let it marinate for extra flavor – you can leave it for 30 minutes or even overnight in the fridge.
- Once marinated, thread the chicken onto skewers. If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Aim for about 6 to 7 pieces per skewer.
- Place the skewers in the air fryer and cook at 400°F for 6 to 8 minutes. Flip them halfway through to ensure both sides turn golden brown.
- Remove from the air fryer and serve warm!
