  • Prep Time: 20 minutes

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 6 pastries 1x
  • Category: Dessert

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Topping

  • 1 egg (whisked)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Mix Filling: In a bowl, mix the chopped pecans, melted butter, brown sugar, dark corn syrup, and cinnamon.
  3. Prepare Puff Pastry: Roll out a sheet of puff pastry and cut it into rectangles.
  4. Score Pastry: Lightly score a smaller rectangle inside each piece without cutting all the way through. This will help the edges puff up when baking.
  5. Add Filling: Spoon a couple of tablespoons of the pecan mixture into the center of each rectangle.
  6. Egg Wash: Brush the edges with a whisked egg. You can mix the egg with a bit of milk if you like.
  7. Cinnamon Sugar: Mix the granulated sugar with the cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the edges where you brushed the egg wash.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown on top and bottom. Baking time may vary slightly depending on your oven.

Notes

  • Variations: Feel free to use a bit of vanilla extract or other spices in the filling for a twist.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container. Reheat in a 350°F oven for a few minutes to enjoy warm.
