Here’s a quick and easy comfort food recipe I whipped up for lunch today on this rainy day in the Bay Area—trust me, you’ve gotta give it a try! You can easily grab all the ingredients at Trader Joe’s to keep it budget-friendly, and it’s handy to have dumplings in the freezer for moments like these!

Viral 5-Ingredient Dumpling Soup
- Category: Dinner
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 green onions (sliced)
- 2 tablespoons of crunchy chili onion (I used Trader Joe’s)
- 1 teaspoon of miso paste (optional)
- 8 dumplings of your choice (I went with chicken)
- 1/2 cup of chopped parsley
- 2 cups of chicken broth (I used Pacific Foods chicken bone broth)
- 1 lime (juiced (optional))
Instructions
- To make it, simply heat up a pot over medium heat and toss in the green onions and chili onion crunch. Sauté them for about a minute, then add in the miso paste if you’re using it. Next, add the dumplings, parsley, and chicken broth. Give everything a good stir, bring it to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover it up for 10 minutes. Once it’s done, remove the cover, transfer it to a bowl, squeeze in some lime juice if you’d like, and dig in!
