Ah, these nuts bring back memories of Christmas fairs! You know the ones I mean, right? Recreate those sweet moments with this easy recipe – perfect to have on hand all month!
Spiced Candied Pecans
Ingredients
- 3 cups unsalted pecan halves
- 1 large egg white
- 1 tbsp water
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp cloves
Instructions
- Heat your oven to 250˚F. Grease a sheet pan with cooking spray or oil (no parchment paper – the nuts will stick!).
- In a big bowl, whisk together egg white, water, and vanilla until frothy. Add pecans and stir well to coat them.
- Mix sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Pour this sugary mix over the pecans and stir well.
- Spread the pecans evenly on the baking sheet and put it on the middle rack of your oven. Stir every 15 minutes, baking for 55-60 minutes in total.
- Take them out, stir, and let them cool completely.
- Once cool, store in an airtight container. They’ll stay good for about a week at room temperature, 3 weeks in the fridge, and 2 months in the freezer. Enjoy the nostalgic goodness!
