Preheat your oven to 350°F and position a rack in the center.
Boil a sweet concoction for the simple syrup by dissolving 1 ½ cups of sugar in ¾ cup of water. Add a teaspoon of lemon juice, and let it cool completely.
Slice the phyllo dough in half lengthwise, then cut into 1-inch sections. Arrange them in a single layer at the bottom of a baking dish.
In a food processor, blend walnuts and sugar until finely ground. Sprinkle a layer over the phyllo dough.
Repeat the process, adding more layers of phyllo dough and the nut mixture. Top it off with the remaining phyllo.
Make 5 vertical cuts followed by 8 diagonal slices on top of the dough.
Pour melted ghee over the dish, ensuring it seeps into the slits.
Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown – be cautious not to burn!
Once out of the oven, pour the cooled simple syrup over the Baklava. Indulge in the deliciousness right away!
