Start by whisking together in a big bowl: milk, eggs, ricotta, sugar, salt, and vanilla.
Now, in another bowl, whip up the ingredients for the cannoli filling until it's smooth and creamy.
Take a slice of brioche, spread 2 tablespoons of the cannoli mixture, and top it with another slice. Cut it into four pieces and arrange them, facing up, in a buttered baking dish. Repeat until all your bread is used up.
Pour that tasty custard over the bread, cover it up, and let it chill in the fridge overnight. This way, the custard can really soak into the bread.
The next day, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Uncover your baking dish, sprinkle on those mini chocolate chips, and bake for 30-35 minutes or until it's beautifully golden brown. Finish it off with a dusting of powdered sugar – perfection!
