Introducing the summer sandwich that everyone’s talking about: Tomato Sandwiches! These bites are the epitome of simplicity and juiciness. The star of the show? A perfectly ripe tomato. It has to be so juicy it screams summertime, preferably grown nearby for that farm-fresh taste. Otherwise, what’s the point, right?

  • 1 ripe tomato
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper optional


  • Slice the tomato nice and thick—just as thick as your bread slices.
  • Spread mayonnaise on each slice of bread.
  • Place the tomato slices on one slice of bread.
  • Sprinkle with salt and a bit of pepper if you’re feeling it.
  • Top it off with the other slice of bread.
  • Cut your sandwich in half.
