Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups unsalted pecan halves
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp cloves

Instructions

  1. Heat your oven to 250˚F. Grease a sheet pan with cooking spray or oil (no parchment paper – the nuts will stick!).
  2. In a big bowl, whisk together egg white, water, and vanilla until frothy. Add pecans and stir well to coat them.
  3. Mix sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Pour this sugary mix over the pecans and stir well.
  4. Spread the pecans evenly on the baking sheet and put it on the middle rack of your oven. Stir every 15 minutes, baking for 55-60 minutes in total.
  5. Take them out, stir, and let them cool completely.
  6. Once cool, store in an airtight container. They’ll stay good for about a week at room temperature, 3 weeks in the fridge, and 2 months in the freezer. Enjoy the nostalgic goodness!
